Beginning Sept. 13, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Shanghai will be hosting the “Esprit Dior” exhibition, celebrating the spirit of Christian Dior, the storied French designer who founded his namesake fashion label in 1946, and went on to reinvent the wheel.
The exhibition will include over 100 dresses, photographs by Patrick Demarchelier, and works by Chinese artists including Yan Peiming, Zhang Huan, Lin Tian Miao, and Liu Jianhua.
Florence Muller curated the exhibition weaving together apparel, accessories (including high end jewelry ), and perfumes along with photography and art into 10 distinct themes. A part of the exhibition is even dedicated to Dior’s passion for gardens. Who knew, for instance, that Dior planted wonderful gardens at his family home in Normandy?
